Camera Advice please

The priority over the next month is to get the website properly up and running. To this end, Christmas profits are going to be directed towards buying a digital SLR camera.
Now I don't know where to start - I need something relatively lightweight, easy to use, high quality and good at closeups (so that I can edit out all the junk round the edges).
Please can someone pass on their advice and recommendations.

I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I LOVE your little van. It is so cute!
Not sure I can be much help with the camera advise. Mine is a Sony 'Sure shot' and I basically point and shoot and then try to tidy up in photo shop on iphotos on my mac. It's not a bad camera and I'm sure it would do more for me if I read more of the instructions!

I think that we are going to go for a Sony (400 I think) with a macro lens.
Then I MUST read the instructions and work out how to do photoshop!

I can't believe you need help on the photos front because I AlWAYS love your photos - I am so envious you should know that

I can't help you but I know a man who can - email photography@elitephotos.co.uk - and speak to David - you can tell him it was me who recommended him.

Tell him your blog name so he can look at the kind of things you need - he's techy and you can tell him your preferred price bracket too to help narrow the field.

Good Luck - and see we ALL want that van!

Have a look at a panasonic dmc - lx 2. My boyfriend is really pleased with it. He wanted something small but that could produce a quality image. It has a leca lens and ten mg pixles. His waited till now to get this becuase he did not think the image quality was good anough. They are bringing out another new model soon. His very pleased with this one.
