Piggies! How wonderful. Are they LGos Old Spots? I have old recipes which deal with every bit of a pig, should you need any. (don't for God's sake name them...)
You're giving me pig-envy! What a wonderful thing to do, even though they are destined for the pot ~ the flavour and the happy environment in which they have been raised will make it all worth it! Have you done this before?
I love to get comments and read every one, visit everyone's blogs and try to reply. I often can't get blogger to e-mail back so if you want a personal reply contact me on

In 2000 I chucked in my job as an art gallery curator and retrained in horticulture while looking for a job outside. I am now building a business based around my twin passions - plants and fabrics - and rooted firmly in the beautiful area where I live. In the summer I grow cut flowers and herbs, in the winter I sew things from wonderful textiles. Both are sold from a van in my drive and at farmers markets.
I am based near to Drymen in the Loch Lomond National Park in Scotland.
I live with Euan, our two daughters Zoe and Katie, 3 cats, 1 dog, 7 chickens, 3 ducks and a rabbit.

They are gorgeous but I suppose they are one day destined to become brawn?

How are you finding the electric fence,? and was it worth the cost?
Julia - the jury is still out on the electric fence - smallest daughter accidently disconnected it yesterday so the pigs got through to the chickens.
She has now been warned off so shall start again!
